Amicron’s two new strains are capable of circumventing vaccine protection

Infections of Covid-19 are increasing in many Western European countries and the United States. Now none of it is happening as expected.
According to the latest data, the number of corona infections in various European countries including Germany, France, United Kingdom, Italy, Spain, Greece, Denmark and the United States is now on the rise. This trend is the most in Portugal. The country becomes one of the popular vacation destinations for many every summer. According to the data analyzed by the Financial Times, there is an increase in hospitalization of patients with corona in some countries including France, United Kingdom.

Commenting on this information, Keith Yates, a senior lecturer at the Department of Mathematics at the University of Bath, England, said at a meeting of the Independent SAGE (a group of scientists advising the British government), it is clear from the latest statistics of the ONS, that the UK has entered the next wave of Corona. Most worrisome, infections are increasing among older people and the 50- to 59-year-old population, who have not yet received a booster dose of the new vaccine.

Experts believe that the new two subtypes of corona micron types BA.4 and BA.5 are mainly responsible for the increase in the number of new corona infections and hospital admissions. In Portugal, the BA.5 subtype is now more prevalent.

According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), even in the United States, the BA4 and BA5 subtypes are likely to be the most prevalent in the current corona infection. These two types are behind 52 percent of new infections.
Both subspecies were first identified in South Africa. Both these subtypes are expected to mutate extensively.

The more this virus spreads, the more people it infects. This means, more mutations of the virus will occur.
