Kelly Oubre Gets Dunked on by Warriors’ Gary Payton II in Rough Return to Chase Center

Kelly Oubre returned to the Chase Center in San Francisco tonight and was promptly dunked on by Warriors’ Gary Payton II. The Hornets’ forward had a rough return to his old home, playing just 15 minutes and scoring only 2 points before fouling out against the defending champions. It’s been a difficult season for Oubre so far, who has struggled with injury problems and poor performance since being traded from Washington at last year’s trade deadline. The Hornets’ return in the Milos Teodosic trade has failed to live up to expectations, and is splitting minutes with rookie big men Montrezl Harrell and Mitch Creek.

Guys like Payton (who had his best game in years) are earning much more playing time than Oubre, who was picked over established stars during the off-season. The Hornets have one of the NBA’s youngest rosters, and are trying to develop talent on their bench instead of relying on players like Oubre. It remains to be seen what happens with him in the summer, but if he continues playing poorly it may be time for him to find a new home.

Well, if he can’t play here Reply Quick Reply Guest Name: I agree to the I agree to the ProBoards Terms of Service C O N T E N T S: NBA Handshake Lineup Board vBulletin Message
