Tottenham’s Argentine defender Cristian Romero is injured again. The 24-year-old defender was knocked out of the field again in the second week of the new season, which ended the league with an injury last season.
Romero was injured last week against Chelsea after a bad tackle by Mark Cuquerra. Tottenham Hotspur are yet to officially announce the extent of the injury. But according to the British media, he has been knocked out for four weeks. There are also concerns about his inclusion in the Argentina squad for the last international break before the World Cup in September.
However, according to Argentine journalist Gaston Deul, Romero can return within ten days.
Romero’s new injury is because of that tackle by Cuquera.
Romero’s challenge in that match against Chelsea, however, is also at the center of controversy. Romero dragged Cukurea by the hair inside the Chelsea box during a corner kick in added time of the match. Tottenham equalized from the return corner as the referee did not call it a foul. Conte’s team returned from Stamford Bridge with a point. Tottenham is in fourth place with four points from two matches in the league.
