Premier Football League newcomer Fortis FC has yet to appoint anyone as a head coach for the upcoming season. However, the club has already announced the name of their assistant coach.
Francesco Bruto da Costa is joining Fortis FC Limited as an assistant coach from the Egyptian national team. Born in India, Da Costa is currently a citizen of Portugal. He was most recently the assistant coach of the Egyptian national team.
Costa is currently vacationing in England. Regarding joining FC Fortis, he told Prothom Alo, “I was contacted and explained about the project. I have been briefed on the approach of the Fortis FC President. After hearing everything, I am interested to be a part of this ambitious project.
Fortis Club has started its academy before playing at the top level of the country. The club selected young footballers last month through trials to form under-16, under-18 and under-20 age groups.
Before this, many clubs like Cox City Football Club, Uttar Baridhara Club, Swadathan Krira Sangh could not even make it to the Premier League. However, after rising to the Premier League, Fortis FC, which has full infrastructure, does not want to be relegated again. Their goal is to build a team that can compete for the Premier League title. Bruto da Costa is coming to Dhaka as a part of this.
