England Soccer Star’s Medals Stolen in Burglary

England soccer star Reece James has revealed that his medals have been stolen in a burglary while he was playing for Chelsea.

The England international defender, who played for Manchester City before moving to Stamford Bridge, shared the news with his followers on Instagram.

“I’ve had my Champions League winners medal and Euro 2020 final medals taken from me,” he said in an emotional video post. “Whoever took them I hope you enjoy them because they are never coming back.”

The ex-Blackburn Rovers player – who grew up in Bolton – added that the robbery was “a very hurtful and upsetting experience for me and my family” as he posted a photo of the crime scene.

Reece James has been an integral part of Chelsea’s defence so far this season, having played five Premier League matches.

The 22-year-old signed for the club in 2017. He said he wanted to “repay” them after they gave him his first professional contract.

His post about the medals came amid a string of other posts on Instagram stories, including one where he outlined how he lost his training shirt when it was replaced with another player’s training shirt.

He said: “Another day, another lesson.”

The footballer also admitted he was not doing enough to maintain his fitness before the last World Cup and that now they were “demanding more”.

The player is now back in training with Chelsea as they prepare for their next match against Derby County on Saturday.

While Reece James was at the World Cup, he also played for England’s Under-21 team across eight games.

The 22-year-old has won 12 international caps in total.His brother Lewis is a professional footballer who currently plays for Middlesborough.

The post about medals being stolen has since been shared more than 18,000 times and attracted over 60,000 likes in total.
