Cheltenham Festival 2022: Honeysuckle and Rachael Blackmore win Champion Hurdle once more

Honeysuckle demonstrated great again as she won the Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham for a second year straight.

Rachael Blackmore turned into the primary female rider to dominate the race last year, and she bent over with a splendid ride on the main day of the 2022 Festival.

  • Primary adversary Appreciate It made the early running and had the lead with two to hop, yet Honeysuckle fueled clear and took the last obstacle eminently to charge away from the field.
  • She was thundered home this time, with a full group back in participation, as the unbeaten female horse made it 15 in succession.
  • Epatante, champ in 2020, returned home in second with Zanahiyr in third. Like It blurred to complete seventh.

It is simply amazing – leaving before the stands with every one individuals, it’s a particularly unique spot, Blackmore said.

I’m so fortunate to ride champs here and this horse. She’s simply mind boggling.

She sort of chooses in a race when she’s glad to go and I haven’t halted her yet. She’s a fantastic horse.

The work that goes into at home is simply mind blowing and they merit all the recognition also.

Prior in the day, Nicky Henderson got his Festival off to the ideal beginning as Constitution Hill traveled home to win by 22 lengths overhead Bet Supreme Novices’ Hurdle, in front of stablemate Jonbon.

Edwardstone made it two out of two for the top choices, taking triumph in the Arkle Challenge Trophy to give Alan King his sixteenth Cheltenham triumph and his first in quite a while.

The day of the Brits went on in the Ultima Handicap Steeple Chase as Corach Rambler fueled up the slope in the middle of Gericault Roque and Oscar Elite.
