3 killed including gunman in shooting in Canada

Three people, including the gunman, have been killed in a shooting incident in Canada’s British Columbia province. Police said that the incident took place in the early hours of Monday local time. Two others, including a woman, were injured in the shooting incident. Reuters news.
Police said the shooting began around midnight in Langley, a suburb of Vancouver. Four people are believed to have been shot in the attack by a male gunman. Later two of them were killed. Two people, including a woman, were injured. The critical woman is under treatment at the hospital.

The gunman was shot dead on the spot by police officers. The shootings occurred in at least five locations in the city and suburbs of Langley. Regional Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Chief Superintendent Ghalib Bhayani said, “We are investigating whether the attacker was alone or not.” The ongoing investigation has indicated that no one else was involved.

Sergeant David Lee of the RCMP’s homicide investigation team said he could not yet confirm whether the victims were homeless.

In 2020, the deadliest gun attack occurred in Canada. A gunman drove by a fake police car in Portapi, Nova Scotia, shot and killed 13 people and set fire to nine others.

Ottawa proposed a law banning handguns nationally in May, a week after a gunman killed 19 children and two teachers in a classroom in Uvalde, Texas.
